In the past, Ergon Energy substation designs were built to standards developed by subsidiary organisations, often resulting in inconsistencies and a lack of integrated approach between various substations across Queensland. Ergon Energy and Maunsell jointly designed and developed a suite of zone substation design templates for new and existing substations. Ergon will benefit from life cycle cost efficiency in the design, construction operation and maintenance as a result of uniformity of substation design.
