This 1.5km long groundwater cutoff wall, constructed at a former steelworks site, is 25m to 45m deep and may be the world's deepest constructed wall using slurry trench methods and soil-bentonite backfill. URS prepared the preliminary design, technical specification and contract documentation as well as provided advice during construction.
