Windsor Flood Evacuation Route (Hawkesbury Valley Way)

Windsor, NSW

The Windsor Flood Evacuation Route combined the final link of the Windsor Road Upgrade with a high level flood evacuation route for the community. The project involved the construction of a 1.5km long bridge, associated earthworks and reinforced soil wall approach embankments which form an egress route in the event of floods. By reducing traffic congestion and travel times, the project has reduced greenhouse gas emissions while standing as an example of high quality visual amenity and urban design.
