The US$100 million National Aquatics Centre in Beijing – better known as the ‘Water Cube’ – was officially opened in January 2008 and will be one of the most dramatic and exciting venues for 2008 Olympics commencing on 8 August. Enclosed within the amazing blue bubble walls are the pools for the swimming and diving competitions, along with seating and facilities for 17,000 spectators.
