Gold Coast Rapid Transit Concept Design and Impact Management Plan
Gold Coast, QLD

The Gold Coast Rapid Transit Project will be a major step to creating a more sustainable city. It will provide a new high capacity rapid public transit system to connect the Gold Coast Railway, the major population centres and the major destinations of Gold Coast City. GHD was commissioned by Queensland Transport to undertake the planning and design of a bus rapid system and a light rail system for the Gold Coast.

Woody Point Jetty and
Foreshore Redevelopment
Brisbane, QLD

KBR designed the Woody Point Jetty and Foreshore Redevelopment for Redcliffe City Council. The 228m long jetty features a concrete substructure and an innovative release-screw design, which will preserve the structure in the event of a storm surge. The jetty proudly acknowledges its maritime heritage with recycled heritage timber decking.

Dynon Rail Port Link
Melbourne, VIC

Leighton Contractors was awarded a design and construction contract for the Dynon Port Rail Link project in Melbourne by the Victorian Department of Infrastructure. SMEC Australia are the principal design consultants for the project. The scope of the project included the construction of:
1. An elevated section of Footscray Road;
and
2. An elevated section of Appleton Dock Road and Enterprize Road, integrated with the elevated Footscray Road overpass.

Inner Northern Busway (INB) -
Queen Street to Upper Roma Street
Brisbane, QLD

Inner Northern Busway (INB) - Queen Street to Upper Roma Street project has improved bus travel times and increased service reliability by providing a dedicated bus route extending between Brisbane’s CBD and the inner northern suburbs.  The project features a 1.2km busway, 500m tunnel and new underground railway stations.

Chatswood Transport Interchange
Chatswood, NSW

Chatswood Transport Interchange is a major item of transport infrastructure for NSW. The $360 million development comprises retail space and provision for three residential towers above a new rail station and bus interchange. Innovative construction techniques were employed to enable two tracks to remain operational through 30 months of construction.

Tugun Bypass
Gold Coast, QLD

The project involved the full design and construction of a new 5.6km long dual carriageway highway bypassing Tugun on the Gold Coast and included the construction of a tunnel under the Gold Coast Airport runway, five bridges, and new interchanges at the southern and northern tie-in to the existing Pacific Highway.

EastLink
Melbourne, VIC

EastLink was the first time in Victoria that infrastructure of such magnitude has been designed and built in one project. The project was completed five months ahead of schedule. The 39 km motorway connects Melbourne’s eastern and southern suburbs, and provides motorists with an estimated 50% reduction in travel time.

Inner City Rail Capacity Study
Brisbane, QLD

Maunsell–PB recently completed the Brisbane Inner City Rail Capacity Study for Queensland Transport. To maximise 'city-building' opportunities, new rail corridor and station locations were developed and selected using detailed multi-disciplinary techniques to maximise public transport integration and land use outcomes (including Transit Oriented Development). Technical pre-feasibility on shortlisted options was also performed.

Deer Park Bypass
Deer Park, VIC

The Deer Park Bypass is a four-lane freeway link extending 9.3km from the Western Ring Road at Sunshine West to the Western Highway at Caroline Springs. Working to tight deadlines, GHD undertook the design of all road, drainage, and structural work, which included 10 bridges within the complex Western Ring Road Interchange.
