The six-storey office complex, located in the heart of Bendigo achieved the first certified 5 Green Star environmental rating for Regional Australia and has a predicted 5 Star NABERS Energy rating, previously known as Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR).

Environmental Audit of Land,

Existing Buildings: Survival Strategies

Produced in partnership with the PCA, Arup has developed a toolkit to assist owners of existing commercial buildings stock with methodologies to ‘green’ older buildings aimed at sustaining the building's commercial viability. Arup's guide outlines a six-step program for refreshing older buildings, and features more than 200 tested upgrade initiatives.

Tasmanian Government Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory, Reduction, Monitoring and Reporting Program
Tasmania

The Tasmanian Government appointed PB to develop a comprehensive inventory of greenhouse gas emissions and to identify emissions abatement strategies for all government departments. PB developed a web-based database to capture data on energy and calculate GHG emissions. The tasks included energy audits of 25 government buildings and consideration of solar energy capture.

Ecolibrium Mixed Waste Treatment Facility
South West Sydney, NSW

Facility to process 90,000 tonnes per year of municipal waste, producing up to 2MW of renewable energy and recovering thousands of tonnes of recyclables - approximately 70% of the waste received at the gate is diverted from landfill. The plant thereby reduces reliance on landfill for South West Sydney Councils and avoids the greenhouse emissions normally associated with landfilling.

Evaluating the Effect of Climate Change on River Redgum Communities
Murray River, VIC

GHD assessed the impact of climate change scenarios on River Red Gum communities along the Murray River. The study took an innovative approach to determine the changes to the frequency, duration and extent of floods by looking at several flow modelling methods and combining this with ecological value information and the feasibility of delivering water.

Banksia Beach Water Treatment Plant
Bribie Island, QLD

Brisbane Caboolture Aquifuture Alliance was formed in September 2006 in response to the SEQ drought to deliver potable water from various aquifers in Brisbane and from the deepsand aquifer on Bribie Island, the latter being within a sensitive Ramsar Wetland.  The Alliance designed and constructed six water treatment plants with consideration to the sensitive environmental issues.
