Through smart design and a co-ordinated approach by the project team and client this 1970s office building was transformed from a 1 Star NABERS Energy Building to 4 Stars NABERS Energy.

Brisbane Airport, International Terminal Building Expansion - Stage 1 and 2A(i)

The Brisbane International Airport is tourists' gateway to Queensland and is expected to host 6 million passengers annually by 2015. Aurecon designed expansions to the main terminal building, the northern concourse, two departure gates and a new central energy plant. The enhanced facilities will accommodate Brisbane’s growing popularity and population, and host airlines’ larger, new generation aircraft fleets.

Wine Innovation Cluster Central Building
Adelaide, SA

The Wine Innovation Cluster (WIC) Central building will be the flagship building for wine research in Australia. The 7000 square metre, 4 storey building will be located on the University of Adelaide Waite campus and will comprise approximately 60% laboratory and 40% office accommodation. Aurecon is providing all engineering for this specialist building. The building is heavily serviced with more than 25 fume cupboards, PC2 gases, trade and radioactive wastes and extensive communications infrastructure.

BioSA Business Incubator Building

The new BioSA Incubator Building recently constructed in Adelaide will be a land mark building for the new Thebarton Bioscience Precinct. The building provides specialist laboratory and office space for early stage biotechnology businesses in South Australia. The building provides 1500 square metre of leasable laboratory and office space supported by common areas incorporating administration, meeting, training, cafe and break out areas. In addition, specialist laboratory space will be provided to house shared equipment such as an autoclave, laboratory grade dishwashers and chemical storage.

World-leadership mechanical and electrical features include Australia’s largest co-generation plant (reducing carbon emissions by 73%) and 160,000L rainwater harvesting system (reducing water consumption by 1.4 ML/y).

Clipsal 500 Infrastructure Upgrade -

The new Clipsal 500 pit facility is the world’s largest demountable building. The building’s services were designed to provide high levels of comfort using an innovative, indirect adiabatic cooling system, whilst also attaining acceptable levels of efficiency and providing for ease of installation and reduced dismantling times.
